What is Summer Bowl?  It's not about the bowling...it's about the kids.

Summer Bowl For Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters’ largest annual fundraiser.  The event brings almost 400 people to a major bowling party at the UCM Cosmo Bowl in Warrensburg.

What do you do?

You simply form a bowling team of five to six people.  Designate a team captain to take care of all the leg-work for your team.  Select and time for your team to bowl.  Next, you and your teammates will collect bowling pledges from your friends, co-workers and family members.  Lastly, you show up on your designated bowling time to enjoy free bowling, pizza, soda and prizes.

Join us at the Kick-off Party on June 19th

Bring your team and enjoy a BBQ in the park on June 19th at 6:00in ShepardPark (located by the BBBS office between College and Holden Streets).  There will free food, soda and lots of fun in the park.  You'll recieve your team packets and be able to sign up for your bowling time and date.  Don't miss out!

Attention Team Captains:

If you've been designated your team's captain there is just a few things we need from you.

  • First, let us know you are going to be a team captain.   Click here to sign up online or you can call us at 660.429.1991 or e-mail bbbsjc@iland.net.
  • Next, if you wish you can make a team webpage that will help you solicit team members and collect online sponsors.   Click here to get started in building your team webpage. Remember teams who build personalized Web pages raise more money.
  • Now, start asking your friends and co-workers to be on your bowling team.  If you've built your Web page you can send them e-mails through your Web page or just start asking everyone you know.  (Teams usually consist of six team members.  However, if you get more than six you can have multiple teams.  We will assign your bowling lanes next to each other.  Just make sure to let us know that you have multiple teams.)
  • Now that you've started getting team members it's time to pick up your team's packet. Bring your team and enjoy a BBQ in the park on June 19th at 6:00 in Shepard Park (located by the BBBS office between College and Holden Streets).  There will free food, soda and lots of fun in the park.  You'll receive your team packets and be able to sign up for your bowling time and date.  Don't miss out!
  • Or, if you can't make it to the party let us know when you register to be a team captain and we will mail you the Summer Bowl Packet.
  • Distribute the pledge packs to your remaining team members.
  • Your entire team can begin collecting pledges.  You can collect pledges online through your team Web page or by completing the pledge sheet, or both!
  • Remember the individual goal is $100/bowler and the team goal is $600.
  • Once you have your team members confirmed, we need you to submit a team roster to us.   Click here to send us your team roster.  Or, you can call us at 660.429.1991 or e-mail bbbsjc@iland.net.
  • Next, you and your team members should pick a bowling time that works for your entire team.  Sessions fill up fast so submit your requested bowling time as soon as you can.   Click here to request your bowling time.  Or, you can call us at 660.429.1991 or e-mail bbbsjc@iland.net.
  • Lastly, you and your team will arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled bowling time to turn in your pledge sheets and collect your prizes.
